There are a lot of good bands in Salem, but there is a really cool one that we think you will enjoy listening to this month at the August edition of, “Jettison Bend Presents.” My experience this past weekend attending an Office Diving show was very pleasing, indeed. I found their songs tight and to the point, clean in their musical structure and lyric writing…but at the same moment they were a head shaking good time. The combination is quite spectacular, really.
I can clearly remember that summer in high school when I drove around with the windows down (because my car didn’t have A/C, of course), the music turned up and my hair blowing in the wind. (I think I also had one too many Rockstars that day, too.) Anyhow, I think you’ll find that to be the Office Diving experience.
Come one, come all to August’s edition of Jettison Bend Presents: Office Diving at Boon’s Treasury in Salem this Wednesday, August 17th at 8:00 pm. Free show as always, 21+ only after 9:00 pm. Be sure to RSVP to our event here on Facebook!
After playing as part of Colin Woekel‘s Musical Showcase with him in Corvallis at the Bombs Away Cafe earlier this month, we see why he has that gig. Colin is a great performer and an all around nice guy. Everyone at Bombs loved him and everyone seemed to know him. We’re not sure if we can say enough nice things about him, really.
We of JB are super excited to host him this month at Boon’s Treasury this coming Wednesday! We think that you will like his guitar and harmonica playing (I’m personally impressed when anyone can play two instruments at once, quite frankly). When you listen to his songs, you can tell that he’s a thoughtful person. It’s like any walls he has up are immediately removed and he lets go of all inhibition when performing. That can’t be said about every singer/songwriter.
In short, we encourage you to come out to July’s edition of Jettison Bend Presents: Colin Woekel at Boon’s Treasury in Salem this Wednesday, July 20th at 8:00 pm. Free show as always, 21+ only after 9:00 pm. Be sure to RSVP to our event here on Facebook!
This is the month we’ve all been looking forward to for so many reasons. First and foremost, the weather was simply divine for our 4th of July holiday weekend. Interestingly, a new song about Bears was written this weekend and Brian will be glad to sing it for you at McMenamins Grand Lodge tomorrow evening if you care to ask him. There’s even a scary and true story to go along with the song. We’ll take you on a “Bearventure” if you dare…
There are some great outdoor shows to see, beginning with Grand Lodge tomorrow, the Marion County Fair on July 9th, Salem Art Fair on July 16th and The Bite of Salem on July 29th! There are plenty of opportunities for our favorite people to come and hang out with us outside, enjoy good music, good weather and good company.
As with most people, we love to work with our friends when we can. So, it was an easy choice for us to select Sean as a featured artist for the June edition of “Jettison Bend Presents.” Just fresh from his CD Release party last Friday night at the Alberta Rose Theatre in Portland, he is ready to show Salem what he has to offer! We think that you’ll enjoy his pop-rock sensibility, keen attention to detail and musicianship. Seriously though, there aren’t many local bands that feature strings AND a horn section. So, be sure to come down and catch Sean’s acoustic set at Boon’s Treasury tomorrow night (in-between your favorite Jettison Bend sets). Show starts at 8:00 pm, Free/21+ after 9:00 pm.
We had such an awesome time at the Axe & Fiddle in Cottage Grove, OR. I think we were all amazed to see this gem of a venue in such a small town! The food was delicious, the drinks were to die for, the crowd was awesome and we love the room. We shared the bill with Garrin Benfield, an amazing singer-songwriter from San Francisco, CA. He had so many tricks up his sleeve, it was a really cool set. We urge you to check out his music![Gallery not found]

We recently added two new pages to our website titled “Let’s Ask JB!” and “Things We Dig.” “Let’s Ask JB!” is a chance for you to get to know the individual band members better and even pose a question of your own here. Let’s face it…everyone likes talking about themselves and the members of this band are no exception. “Things We Dig” is a listing of local bands and musicians who matter a lot to us, so we hope that you like them as much as we do. Plus, we have some really creative friends with businesses online and want to be able to highlight all the really cool people that we know. If you knew people this cool, wouldn’t you?
I have to say that the members of Jettison Bend are extremely excited about this new website. It’s been a long time coming, if we do say so ourselves. This will start a really cool new chapter for us, being able to connect better with our friends and fans.
So, feel free to comment on this blog, get into contact with us and be sure to check back often so you stay up to date on our current shows!
